About the function

The Group Shared Functions (GSF) support the growth of all our eCommerce companies #regionfirst. Our Shared Function offices are in London, Berlin and Luxembourg and we also have teams based in the regional offices across Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Sydney. We are a team of over 100 people working in Legal, Finance, People & Culture, Tech and Sustainability. 

In this role as Sustainability Manager you will be reporting into the Chief Sustainability Officer who is based in Sydney (Australia) and who you will support with the delivery of GFG`s sustainability vision through implementation of the Group sustainability strategy on ethical trade, environment, community and responsible workplace. 

About the role

  • You will play a key role in the implementation of the strategic framework which responds to the risks and opportunities related to the social and environmental performance 
  • You will manage the implementation of the group reporting framework, coordinating data collection across the group on a quarterly basis and leading on analysis and reporting on performance and progress
  • You will play a key role in developing the annual non-financial report for the group, in line with the European Non-Financial Reporting Directive, and ensure investor and membership related reporting requirements are met in a timely manner
  • You will support the development of communication materials for the group in relation to sustainability including, for example, website information
  • You will conduct a comprehensive and rigorous research into key topics as required, keep abreast of emerging issues and support the rest of the business to understand and navigate those as required
  • You will engage with internal stakeholders around the world, collaboratively working with them to implement sustainability programs at GFG

What will you bring to the team 

  • A Bachelors degree or greater in a related discipline
  • Relevant experience in sustainability in a large international organisation with a global footprint
  • You are a self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable in working independently 
  • You have strong project management skills and are able to meet deadlines while juggling competing priorities 
  • You also have very good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and are comfortable dealing with a broad range of stakeholders around the world
  • Excellent Excel skills and comfortable analysing large volumes of data 
  • Last, but not least, you have a strong passion for making a positive difference to people and planet
